Side-event on "Global Afro Descendant Climate Justice Collaborative" which aims to mobilise and strengthen outreach among Peoples of African Descent, within the framework of UN Global Decade of Afro descendants. The initiative provides mechanisms for collaborative action between Afro-descendant groups with shared interests in advancing justice and equity based climate justice mitigation and adaptation policies and projects globally. Key Objectives: (1) Educate communities in the United States, (as well as United Kingdom, and Canada as major polluters and power bases) about common ground, common cause, and mutual policy interests between communities in the US and communities worldwide regarding climate justice. (2) Build/strengthen transnational relationships between Afro-Descendant communities and countries ❖ Develop a shared advocacy agenda for domestic and foreign climate change policy. (3) Implement a joint action plan to advance just climate policy aims.
